How it works

From application to delivered.

Oasis puts every approved vendor's offer for the same product on one page, ranked by what the order actually costs to receive. Here is each step of that, including the parts that happen after you have paid.

The short version

Four steps, start to delivered.

Everything below is these four steps in detail. If you only read one section, read this one.

  1. Apply

Apply to join and a person reviews your practice.

  2. Compare

Open a product and see every vendor's offer side by side.

  3. Fill one cart

Add the best offer from each vendor to one cart.

  4. Check out once

Pay once, and each vendor sends its own shipment.

Step one

Why there is a door at all.

Vendor pricing on Oasis is commercially negotiated. Publishing it openly would mean publishing every vendor's position to every competitor, so the catalog opens to verified practices instead.

Apply to join
  • Your legal entity and EINChecked against the practice you say you are. A mismatch is the most common reason an application comes back.
  • Licenses and permitsUploaded to a private store, opened by a reviewer through a short-lived signed link, and never published.
  • A person, not a ruleApproval is a human decision. A rejection always carries a written reason, because a decision that cannot explain itself is not reviewable.

Step two

A product is not a listing.

Most supply sites return the same item five times because five vendors listed it. Oasis holds one product page and hangs every vendor's offer underneath it, so a search result is a thing you can buy rather than a thing somebody typed.

Where two vendors list the same product with materially different details — a different pack size, a different unit of measure — the disagreement is preserved on each offer and queued for an operator to adjudicate. It is never silently merged, because a silent merge quietly sells somebody the wrong quantity.

How offers are ranked

The cheapest price is not the cheapest order.

Ranking defaults to total (price + shipping). The arithmetic is deliberately boring, and it is the whole reason the default is not unit price.

Same product, two vendors

Illustrative figures
Vendor AUnit $10.00Ship $4.00$14.00
Vendor BUnit $11.00Ship Free$11.00

Vendor A wins on unit price and loses the order. Rank on unit price alone and you pay $3.00 more per line, every line, without ever seeing it.

Landed

Unit price plus shipping. The default, because it is what leaves your account.

Unit

Price per unit alone, for when you are comparing like with like on volume.

Fastest

Shortest delivery window first, for when you needed it yesterday.

Out-of-stock offers and suspended vendors are excluded from every buying surface entirely — not shown greyed out. An offer you can see is an offer you can buy.

Illustrative. Each vendor sends its own shipment; the reference, payment and refunds stay with Oasis.

Steps three and four

One basket, one payment.

A cart line holds the exact vendor offer you picked, with the price you were shown frozen onto it. It is never silently swapped for a cheaper one, and a price that has moved needs your acceptance before it is charged.

At checkout, price, stock and vendor eligibility are all revalidated before payment is taken — the last defence against buying something that sold out while it sat in your basket.

Then the order divides. One payment and one reference for you; a separate delivery for each vendor, which is the only part any of them sees.

After you order

Four vendors can ship on four days. It is still one order.

Each shipment moves through its own states at its own pace, and every transition records who caused it and how.

  1. Placed01
  2. Paid02
  3. Shipped03
  4. Delivered04

A canceled or refunded shipment is recorded as its own state rather than by rewinding the ones before it, so the history of an order always reads forwards.

The money

Where every dollar goes, and when.

Paying

Oasis is the transaction owner end to end — you are never redirected to a vendor to pay. Card details are tokenized by the processor and never stored here.

Commission

Oasis takes its commission from the vendor, calculated when the order is placed against the rate in force at that moment. A later rate change never re-prices an old order.

Refunds

Full or partial, issued against the original transaction and recorded as their own entries rather than as edits to what you were charged. Oasis handles it, not the vendor.

If you sell

The same marketplace, from the other side.

Vendors apply the same way practices do, and are reviewed the same way. Listing costs nothing; Oasis earns only when you sell.

Apply to sell on Oasis
  • List what you stock

Set your own price, shipping, pack size and delivery window per item. Volume pricing with price breaks is yours to set.

  • Hold your own stock levels

Every movement is recorded with its cause. Cross your low-stock threshold and you are told before a practice finds out for you.

  • Ship only your own lines

You see the lines that are yours and nothing else — never another vendor's position on the same product.

  • Get paid on a settled schedule

Commission is deducted at the transaction, payments follow on a schedule you can audit line by line.
